Samcro Explained
You may be pondering the thought, 'What is Samcro?'. Well, ponder no more and allow me to explain what Samcro stands for, how it all began, and its current status today as seen in 'Sons of Anarchy'.
Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original, or 'Samcro' for short, is a fictional biker club established in 1967 by two Vietnam war veterans, John Teller and Piney Winston. According to the television show, 'Sons of Anarchy', nine members formed the club in the fictional town of Charming, California.
John Teller, the clubs president, eventually married his 'old lady' Gemma Teller. A few years later Gemma gave birth to two sons, one of which died at a young age due to a genetic heart condition conceived from Gemma. Sadly, John Teller died in a freak accident and Gemma later re-married to Johns close friend, Clay Morrow, whom now is the current president of Sons of Anarchy. Gemma's oldest son, Jackson 'Jax' Teller, is the main character seen throughout the show. Now in his adult-hood Jax, the VP, is constantly conflicting with his step-father Clay.
Jax's 'junkie' ex-girlfriend, gives birth to his first son, Abel. Unfortunately, Abel was born premature with the same heart condition as Gemma, resulting in an emergency surgery. Doctor Tara Knowels is introduced as Jax's high school sweetheart. She performs the surgery that saves Abel's life. Jax and Tara eventually end up back together and raise Abel.
Throughout the show Jax is often found reading old journals left behind from his father John Teller. In these journals Jax learns that the club has drastically changed from what it was meant to be. The club now operates legal and illegal businesses. Some legal businesses that the club runs to hide their shady businesses include a porn studio and a garage with 'mechanics'. Although the club did deal guns in the past, Jax learns that his fathers intentions were to make the club a clean business, but now that the club is in the hands of Clay it is dealing drugs along with guns.
Later, we learn that John Tellers death becomes suspicious when Jax learns that his father was once conflicting with Clay when he wanted to stop the gun business. As Jax and his now fiancee Tara Knowles look into the suspicious death, Piney hints to them that all along he felt Johns death was a set up. Coincidentally, Piney ends up found shot to death at his cottage. Now the drama continues to unfold in season five every Tuesday night at 10pm on channel FX.
